- Brockport, Sweden and ClarksonBrockport, Sweden, and Clarkson have separate permit authorities. Brockport adds historic-preservation review for certain exterior changes, including altered openings and porch work.
- ChiliChili publishes a detailed finished-basement process. Plans must identify room use, equipment, alarms, windows, egress features, and finished versus unfinished space.

- HenriettaHenrietta projects require an early check for permit documents and energy-code requirements. The town’s online code adds an NYStretch layer that needs current confirmation.

- PenfieldPenfield uses a separate environmental-overlay permit for regulated work in mapped areas. Floodplain or stream-corridor status can change the approval path before construction starts.
- PittsfordA Pittsford mailing address can fall under Town or Village rules. Town basement requirements and Village-wide exterior design review create different project paths.
- RochesterRochester projects can require building-permit review, preservation approval and licensed-trade coordination. The exact path depends on the building and the scope.
