Electrical inspections are completed through approved outside inspection agencies. The town’s remodel guidance says new plumbing lines require a plumber registered with Greece to sign the permit application. Permitted alterations can also trigger updates to smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms. That affects the sequence for kitchens, bathrooms, and basement projects. The plumbing scope should be settled before the permit package is submitted. The electrical inspection agency should also be identified before rough work starts. This reduces the risk of closing a wall before the required inspection. Rental properties have a separate town permit and inspection program. Greece states that a rental-property permit is generally valid for three years. An owner should confirm rental status at the start because a renovation permit does not replace the rental-property process.
