- Opening up enough to assess the existing substrate and any previous water damage before the scope is fixed.
- Waterproofing specified as a continuous system, with corners, changes of plane and penetrations treated as part of it.
- Fall to the drain formed in the substrate rather than corrected in the bed.
- Confirming supply and waste positions against the chosen fixtures before ordering.
- Niches, benches and thresholds detailed for drainage rather than only for appearance.
- A stated sequence and duration, since this is usually the only shower in the home.

What to know before work begins
Plumbing, electrical, gas and HVACWhen a project includes work that requires a licensed trade, the appropriate specialist is engaged for that part of the scope.
Other limits
- A curbless entry depends on the floor structure below and cannot be promised before it is seen.
- Regulated electrical, plumbing and gas work is coordinated with the appropriate licensed specialist for the project rather than performed under a license of our own.
- Conditions behind existing finishes cannot be priced before they are visible. What is found is written up as a change with its own price, not absorbed silently or invoiced afterwards.
- What is behind an existing shower cannot be fully known until it is opened. The estimate names which conditions would change the price and by how much, and anything additional is agreed before it is carried out.
- The waterproofing assembly must meet the required standard even when a preferred detail would compromise it.

Who supplies each material is agreed for the project and recorded in the written estimate. We confirm purchasing responsibilities before work begins.
