Bathroom with a tiled tub and shower, an oak vanity and a small hexagonal tile floor.

Typical work to discuss

The written estimate confirms what is included for your home.

Typical scope

  • Assessing joist depth and floor framing for a dropped pan
  • Waterproofing the continuous floor assembly
  • Sloping the envelope correctly to the drain

If existing conditions require it

  • Lowering the subfloor or raising the bathroom floor

Optional or separate work

  • Framing reinforcement

Choosing the shower entry

A walk-in shower can have a raised threshold; a curbless entry is a different design decision. Tell us whether a flush entry is essential or whether you are also considering a low threshold.

The floor construction, drain position and adjoining bathroom floor need assessment before a flush entry can be confirmed. Waterproofing, the enclosure and the direction of water inside the shower also belong in that discussion. A photograph alone cannot establish that a particular design will fit.

Discuss the clear space you want at the entry and any seating or support features you are considering. These choices help define the project, but are not a promise of accessibility compliance or an inclusion in every shower estimate.

Helpful details for your estimate

A short description is enough to start. These details and photos are optional.

  • Whether the bathroom is on the first floor or an upper floor.
  • Photos of the shower entrance and the surrounding floor, if convenient.
  • Your preferred entry, enclosure and seating arrangement, even if undecided.

What to know before work begins

Plumbing, electrical, gas and HVACWhen a project includes work that requires a licensed trade, the appropriate specialist is engaged for that part of the scope.

Other limits

  • A flush curbless entry typically requires altering the subfloor or framing. If your joists cannot safely accommodate the drop, we will discuss low-threshold alternatives rather than promising a flush finish.
  • Waterproofing extends beyond the shower area in a curbless design; it is a full-room consideration.

Do you provide materials?

Who supplies each material is agreed for the project and recorded in the written estimate. We confirm purchasing responsibilities before work begins.

Do I need photos to request an estimate?

No. Photos are optional, but they can help us understand the existing condition.
