Fairport and Perinton

Fairport and Perinton maintain separate permit and preservation systems. The property’s Village boundary decides which department and historic-review rules control exterior work.

Rochester area

What is specific to here.

The Town of Perinton Building and Codes Department handles permits for town properties outside the Village of Fairport. The Village has its own Code Enforcement Officer and building-permit law. Perinton’s preservation ordinance applies to town landmarks and historic districts. It requires a certificate of appropriateness for specified exterior changes. The ordinance expressly excludes property inside Fairport. Fairport has a separate Historic Preservation Commission. Its code requires advance review for alteration, demolition, or new construction affecting a designated landmark or historic district. The Commission does not review interior spaces under that chapter. Confirm the municipal boundary before requesting records or submitting plans. For affected exterior work, obtain the preservation decision before treating the building-permit schedule as fixed.

How coverage actually works.

Confirmed per addressWe work across Rochester and the surrounding area, approximately up to twenty miles. That is a description of where we usually travel, not a boundary drawn on a map, so the answer for any particular property comes from the address rather than from the town name. Send us the address with your request and we will confirm it before anything is scheduled.
